Barbarian
You play as Tandum the son of a barbarian chieftan. One day some red cloaked figures pay your father a visit and you come home to find him dead. Will you be able to take your place as chieftan or will you be thwarted by the shifty thorgin. This game I believe is much easier than my previous two. The category should probably be fantasy or rpg.

The Maze
You get drunk at a party and the last thing you remember is hitting on a girl. You wake up in the middle of the night in a large hedge maze. Can you get out?
I made this one just to see if I could do it. It's a basic 4 direction hedge maze with a few puzzle and 300 "rooms". Only it's all done in one room.

Nice, don't feel bad when I was playing darkness falls I got stuck on the trap door. I tried everything push pull open etc everything except idk LIFT. lol My wife figured it out. I felt like an idiot. PS for amusement purposes only (save before doing) try swearing, jump when on a cliff top, shoot the parrot, speak to the skull.

If you shot the pirate on the boat then you are in trouble.
There is something hidden on the boat that teaches you how to use your cutlass.
The boat to the north doesn't start comming after you until you raise the pirate flag.
The tiles are supposed to show a jpg picture when you look at them.
Are they?

I really enjoyed your games cj.
Shipwrecked has got alot of fluff in it but content and storyline are what really makes the game good. I am currently working on another one called wizard.
It won't have all the sound effects and fluff in it but I think if you have played all the old infocom games like enchanter and such you will really enjoy it. I got inspired because I played a game on this site where the spells you have are in inventory. And I though they shouldn't be. They should be memorized then cast and such. I am including a drop down spellcasting menu that is pretty neat.

If looking at the tiles doesn't bring up a pop up picture then it means the game didn't compile them like it was supposed to. You need to have the tile pictures work or you will have a really hard time with the slide puzzle near the end. If they aren't working then send me an email at wonderjudge22@yahoo.com and I will e-mail them back to you as an attatchment.

You will need to do something about the rest of the angry villagers. The pirates must have left the present they had for them on the ship because the villagers were not to kind to them.

If you don't know what to do with the anthill then you haven't found the one way out of the ruins that doesn't lead to the forest. As for the beehive besides the shiny spear and pistol what is your only other projectile weapon?

You were on the right track earlier with the monkey. I hope you didn't drink the bottle of rum too soon. The coconut is a projectile weapon.

If you drink the rum you become tipsy instead of angry. When your tipsy when the monkey bothers you it won't make you angry something different will happen.
To get to the ruins. From the dead end go east, east, southeast.

Ok even though i compiled them with the game they still are not working.
Sooo I uploaded the pictures and sounds (yes there are supposed to be sounds too) here. Just unzip them in the same folder where you have the game.

CJ, try to move the game and all the picture files into my documents.
Once you have all the tiles in place the door becomes a slide puzzle.
That is really the only reason you need the pictures to work.
Alex, Look at the dais. there is a hole in it and a metal bar over it.

The hole is too big for you to go into. Tie the basket to the rope, Put the lantern in the basket then lower the basket.
Cj If that doesn't get the pictures to work let me know and I'll just post you a walkthrough on moving the tiles.
That is annoying though. I spent a long time getting that slide puzzle done.
I had to take a picture and split it up evenly into 9 seperate pictures, then do the computations for moving them.

CJ did you save the pistol?
If you shoot it it takes 12hp and if you use the shiny spear and or throw spear
it takes 8 hp.
If you got and stored all the treasure you should have a max health of 33 or so.
Alex you can empty the jar.

If you want the full effect display option size 1024 by 768 and go full screen keep the panes on.

Pofke, from the village outskirts go s,w,s,s,w that should bring you to the dead end. from the dead end go e,e,se that should bring you to the ruins.
only the latest version of shipwrecked alex put my pictures and sound in a zipped folder with it. make sure the pictures and sounds are in the same area as the games. If you get to the slide puzzle make sure you graphics are set to 1024 by 768.

The painting has a button that opens a section of it. The button is hidden from you but the parrot might know where it is. Don't worry the pistol is on the ship. Don't worry about the first island you will be able to get back there after you get off the pirate ship. You need to make sure you take and find everything that you need off the pirate ship. You will see why. There is a book hidden on the ship you need to read. Then make sure you take the pry bar, ship's wheel, all the treasure,stuff from the closet,sack of rum and the cutlass.

The monkey irritates him. Wait for the monkey to do something before you pick up the anteater. Then you either need to be really fast in getting back there or put the anteater down half way there and wait for the monkey to do something then pick it up again. Once to the anthill all you need to do is put the anteater down.

Do you mean the pictures are not working. If not make sure that they are in the same folder as the game. If you mean the tiles are showing up wrong on the slide puzzle then you can fix that as well by changing your graphic setting to size 768 by 1024.

Sorry, I guess not. I have not had much experience with blind people. I guess there must be a set up for their computer to tell them what's on the screen or something. But I guess if you can't see the pictures then you would need someone with sight to help you with the slide puzzle.

Basic alchemy 101. Use bucket of sand on glass maker. Use empty beaker on potion dispenser. Put beaker filled with fluid in mixer. You can also mix two potions together to from a new potion.

Ahh the statues.... I like this puzzle. have you examined them? You can fiddle with them. The heads shields and arms are movable. The game will tell you what position they are in. If you get it to the right one they will spring away from the doors. If you get stuck there might be a hint hidden somewhere in the second dormitory.

Oh and incase you can't read the spell instructions. You can reverse memorize spells. Which means you can get the spell in reverse. The command for that is

For some reason when you make a container and check the box to make items removable it doesn't work. I don't know why. But as long as the sludge doesn't interfere with potion making then don't worry the bottle of sludge is useless in itself

Oh and a word to the wise after beating the strange table if you have gotten the rainbow potion. Save. Because if you go into the last part of the game without holding the correct stuff you will have to come back and make the rainbow potion again. And that's a pain in the butt.

You can't the pistol has but one shot. You should save it for the end creature.
You can get it through the water the same way you did the matches.
The end creature has 50 hit points. I gave cj some tips on beating earlier.
Follow those as the creature is hard to beat.
There is one treasure in the cave of the creature but here are the others.

Not a bas short little game. Too short for my liking. There is a glitch in it by the way. When you get the pillow the pillow doesn't show up. It's still hidden. I couldn't figure out how to use the phone. I cheating to win lol.

Thanks! =) I thought so at first but now that I realize alot of visually impaired people play these games I feel bad. In future games I am going to put an option in so that if you are blind you can still do the puzzles without the pictures.

You need a sail to win the game but as long as you have put the ship's wheel from the pirate sloop on to the wheel stand on the sailboat then you can type in 'sail' or 'set sail' when you are on the deck of the sailboat to get to the other island.

Thanks Crispix! =) The monkey was meant to annoy. Perhaps I made him a little too annoying. I should have thought to have you be able to fill the bottle in the pond. An oversight on my part. I myself like the mazes but not everyone does. I actually was more cruel with the dying at first but then toned it back a little perhaps I should have toned it back more. I actually think you will like my wizard game I posted better. No monkey, no mazes, and there are only two areas in which you can die and lose. The first one you would have to be really dumb to trigger and the second part where you can die you are warned to save ahead of time.

Thanks Alex! Your almost done with wizard btw. I started working on wizard 2 but kind of got writers block I guess lol. So I am working on another one called barbarian. I am making this one a little easier than the other two and it asks if you are visually impaired at the begining so than when you come to a visual puzzle it will give you a description of it instead of displaying a picture.
Oh and CJ I don't know if you noticed but you can also put potions in the mixer or beakers in the dispenser by using them on it. So you can use the panes to make the potions. It is still tedious but less typing.

Well I hate to tell you this alex but you are going to need to go back and make another rainbow potion. The shield spell you get when you go into the moat then southeast then north. You will be inside cell. You need to speak to the hole in the ceiling. Then you will have the scroll with the shield spell on it. But you need to do it before you pull the lever.

13 in the silt after stopping the rain in north wing of temple

after you kill an enemy type in "tea bag 'deadenemy'". If you don't know what tea bagging means i'm not going to tell you as it is something rude.
The combat is set up so that when you do an opposite attack as your opponent defends then a nasty wound is issued thus doing 2 point of damage instead of 1.
For example when you swing right and opponent defends left, he gets a nasty wound. There is no opposite of thrust or parry. So when you thrust will only only ever do 1 damage. but if you always parry you opponent can only ever do 1 damage. Thus giving you an advantage.

The health points are displayed as a status variable below inventory in the panes. I don't know if you have access to the panes or not as I don't know how the computer you have speaks the words to you. I didn't put any commands in to tell you what your health is and knowing what I know now I wish I had. sorry.

The creature has 50 health shooting it does 12. and then throwing the spear does 8. leaving it with 30 health. if you have close to that you should be able to beat it with the cutlass.

Oh lol. When you change characters I moved all the objects in inventory to a room called wizard1. then moved all the objects in a room called golem1 into inventory and vise versa. I made an object called yourself available and the golem unavailable and vise versa. I turned the golem2 flag on to indicate you were the golem. Then I made certain items with the property 'golem'. Therefore when you went to take something with the golem2 flag set if it did not have the property golem then your hands were too big and vise versa.

That's a really strange glitch. I played it and it won't let you go to fang mountain if you aren't mounted. If you have the horse you can mount it to get back. If not you will have to restore. That is just bizzare.

First you should head east till you find the red ball then keep going west past the entrance and follow the path till you find the red dispenser.
Where it was 300 rooms I split it up into 2 sections. the north and south. If you get to the maze center then you can go north to the north section.

No it's all done in one room. when you start the game Ii give coordinates. your x=8 and y=0. If you can move north increment y by one.
In the section how to describe rooms in this game I have a variable check if x=8 and y=0 then Print" Maze entrance" else "Hedge maze" for example.
The objects were given properties (position1,position2) to represent there locations in the maze. So after every turn it checks to see if the objects position is the same as yours then it makes it available other wise unuvailable.

When you first start out you can get some copper by talking to hardin and you can get some by picking up the clothes in your chamber. To get in your chamber you must use what is in the vase on the fireplace mantle on your window then enter your window.

All your problems are connected. The ent will get rid of the spiders for you if you put out the fire. To do this you will need to disenchant the bucket, empty it then fill it with water from the lake then enchant the bucket and use it on the fire.
If you need to make potions again after that follow the same procedure and fill the bucket with sand again.

Yep glitch internally when you cast deluminate it moves you to a room called darkness and when you cast illuminate it moves you to the last room you were in.
so when you cast deluminate twice it moves you from darkness to darkness and the last room you were in was darkness so when you cast illuminate it moves you to darkness again.

The gunpowder you don't use til later. You can go back to the first island you were on and retrieve some things if you get in the boat from the western shore.
There you can get your crude shovel back. You will need to lower a light source into the area from above.

The container you are looking for is on the last island. You will need to be on the sail boat.(to the east) and type either sail or set sail.
The stream is actually on the first island in the cave. Unfortunately I had forgotten about the pond there and didn't allow the bottle to be used on it.

There are 4 plates in the graveyard. One in each corner of the graveyard. You need to press the in a specific order to get the crypt to open. There is a clue to the order written on one of the graves. It's been awhile so I don't remember the exact order but I know that the clue says soemthing about a cold sunrise and such. The sun rises in the east sets in the west. The north is cold etc.
The reverse of it opens the gate. Sorry about your husbands lousy dinners.

The order should be northwest, souteast, southwest, northeast.
press each plate once in that order and the crypt should open.
If you use the reverse order it will close the crypt and open the gates.

once you have 8 of the nine tiles inserted you should be able to slide them around. tile 5 goes in last. a solution should be posted somewhere in this thread I think. If not I can post one. Once you have the picture right putting tile 5 in the center should open the door. save before entering.

Even though wizard has much better puzzles and shipwrecked is longer and harder,

after the solution a scroll should pop out of the table. Stabilize is the spell.
Use it on the flickering portal in the summoning lab and then it will take you to a new location.

That is strange. Might be a bug. I think when you leave the room it should bring you to the last room you were in. Hmmm if you saved your game in the room and then quit and restarted from there the prepackaged quest software might not save the lastroom variable and the game would not know which room to bring you back to. I shall have to not use the #lastroom# variable in the future or will put in contingencies to cope with that. sorry.

Also annoyingly I have got a new computer with windows 7 and the new 64 bit system comes up with an error when I try to play quest games.

With most things you just can't use it on it's own. You usually need to use something on something.
You can usually click and drag things in inventory onto other things.
Which will act as if you typed use 'thing in inventory' on 'other thing'.
Yes you are right at the end. You cannot escape but you can help your fellow wizards.
Cast destabilize on the portal. You will need to cast enlighten first I believe.

There is a glitch in the game as it will let you go to fang mountain without the horse but you can't get back.

To get the bead out of the mousehole you will need potions.
First use the one that shrinks you (I can't remember which color)
then talk to the mouse.

A good game. Kinda short. I like the story line and descriptions and how the story unfolds. The use item on item thing gets ruined as do other preset editor commands if you defined the command anywhere as a verb. For example if on one object you put use as a verb and then type some message when they use it.
I had the same problem with take or get when I first started using the editor.
To get around it you can do 2 things
1. Set up a command instead of putting in a verb in the object set up screen.
example command 'take #@thing#' puts the object in a string variable.
Then you can set up a case script or an if.
if #thing#='bucket' then do some script
else
execute a command as if it were typed in by the player
(click on the built-in quest comman box)
or
2. Don't add the verb into the first object screen.
use the optional set up screen instead.
in the case of 'use thing'.
its under things that items can be used on. under use item by itself.

Nice little game. Way too short for my likes. but nicely done.
btw. I like the switching character thing. I have used it in wizard and am going to use it again in wizard2. If you want each character to have his own inventory what i did was create a dummy room for each character. So when you switch you run a script that moves everything in inventory to the dummy room and vice versa.

The clue to the correct combo should be on one of the graves it think.
I believe it says a wolf flees from a burning sun(set or rise) cant remember.
You have to get the picture right then press the button and the door will open.

One of the crypts has some stones in a coffin. Get a stone and use it on one of the pressure plates. Then go get another stone. repeat until all 4 pressure plates have stones on them.

Are you playing from the browser? This part should display some pictures. If you are playing from the browser then it didn't download them. You can do one or two things. Download the game and save it then unzip and play it. Or say that you are visually impaired at the begining of the game and it will give you a verbal description of the pictures instead.

That's strange. The error comes when the program can't find the pictures. Playing the game under the visually impaired option will fix it for now. That is the only part of the game that has pictures. The wolf needs to be at the top the fire and sun to the bottom left i believe.

You couldn't reach it with the chainsaw anyhow. You need to shoot it but the spider needs to be in the right position and the ladle needs to also and the spider needs to be distracted, This is probably the most challenging boss it the game.

You can't. But You do have a radio. When you are in the room with the spider. Don't go to the center right away. stay to the perimeter. When the spider gets one step away from you, use the flashlight on it. then move one more step away. Then use the radio to contact neva.

Gamer I think you may have found a glitch. If you search all the things in the room and find the button THEN die before you press it and try again. AND after you retry you press the button before using the blower on the animals then the wrench won't appear.

Heidi, When you leaf blow the animals the shine the light on the clown examine one of the things in the room ie benches. There should be five. On the last one you should find the button for fire control. press ie. if the clown appears leaf blow the balloons and use torch on him then press button.
PS if you die before you press the button and try again, leaf blow the balloons before pressing the button.

Unfortunately the on-line play does not support the picture part of the software. Yes you are supposed to lose the spell when you cast it. You can also rmemorize a spell which mean reverse memorize. There is a handy spell casting menu on the top of the screen.

You can get back in the security building there is a door if you look at it you will see a key pad use the electronic key on the keypad then open the door.
If you use the forklift to go east down the back road then there is no going back from there.

If you left drag the extinguisher over the creature using the panes it will do it quickly otherwise you can type either

Whew, thought I had a big glitch there. Are you SURE the ladel is in the center?
Neva doesn't really pay attention that well or something, because when you tell her to move the ladle south she moves it north. And when you tell her to move it east it moves west. (you will find out why later)

There must be some kind of saving and loading problem with quest or something.
I will look at the code but if the slag monster is petrified then the exit is scripted to bring you to the east smelter courtyard.
The workshed should be opened by using the bolt cutters on it.

The east exit from the slag monster is a simple locked exit it should either let you by or tell you the slag monster would rip you limb from limb.

Ps. There is definitely a glitch where quest doesn't fully save the status of your exits upon a save. That is why the work shed exit shows up after you save and restore, when it shouldn't.

Type 'enter fork lift' then you will be in it. Then just type the direction you want to go. schala, i think you might be getting the forklift mixed up with the skid steer. the skid steer is untakable, it should be back in the west security courtyard.

The Powerful one cannot be scribed and is a one time use. When you use the spell the scroll dissapeared. However you used the spell in the correct spot and won the game so no harm done =)

You memorize the spells. To see which spells you have memorized type spells.

The cavern is north from the ledge. It is too cold for you to go there.
It's been awhile since I made this game so I can't remember which potion it is but I believe it must be one that you have. But you need one to get by the extreme cold then you can go north from the ledge.

You need to right the forklift east along the back road. The Back road is to the northeast of gypsum pile or north of the central courtyard. You will need to have the forks raised once in order to survive.

Alot of game especially mine, need you to download it rather than play online due to picture content. The saved game feature doesn't work properly on line at least not for me. If you download it you can start the game by opening the quest symbol and loading the game in or just double click on the game itself.

The statues is probably the hardest puzzle in the game. I may have posted a solution to it earlier in this string of comments. Some tips to the statues. Moving certain things locks and unlocks other things on the statue. I don't remember exactly what does what. play with the other things and see what unlocks what. Save your game before fiddling with it and if you still need help let me know and I will post a solution here from your current position.

To get through the front doors you will need the infamous rainbow potion. It has only one use and making it is very tedious. The shield spell only saves you from magical missles. Make sure before you enter the castle to have also the protection from fire potion or you will have to do it all over again. I think its the blue potion but not sure.

The first building? The security building. If you examine the door you will notice a keypad on it. Use the electronic key on it and the door will unlock. Open the door. It's awhile but you do have a limited amount of time then the door will lock again

If your fire extinguisher is empty before you start then unfortunately you will need to start again.
To kill the bear you need to blast it twice when it reaches for you and then use the flashlight on it when it puts its head in. After that raise the lever.

Yes, you need to get the ladle and spider in the center then use the flashlight on the spider. Then shoot the chain.
Make sure the ladle is in the center. Neva is going to move the ladle in the opposite direction of what you tell her to.

You shouldn't if the ladle is in the middle. With the ladle and the spider in the middle use the flashlight on the spider then shoot the chain. If this still doesn't work then you may have the same problem someone else did. The ladle was reading falslely that it was in the middle for them and they had to start from before they went into the room. I don't know why this is. It has worked properly for me and everyone else but for them there was a glitch.

You need to climb the chain. From the refinery control room lower the chain. Lock the door to the control room after you exit it. Then go down to the blob room. climb the chain, throw the makshift bomb at the blob then shoot it.

There should be a door to the nickel building examine it. There should be a keypad use the electronic key on it and open the door. But you will need to get into the lab first. If you have the wrench when the moths attack examine the argon tank.

You need the 4 working fuses. Put them in the fuse box then hit the reset button. The wet fuse in where the fuse box is use the wrench on the valve there after you have gotten rid of the black mass.
Sarah, you can only carry either the ladder or the hose not both. You will need to do some manuevering to get everything in place.

If you turn on the leaf blower you can use it on the balloon animals he makes. Use the flashlight on him when he gets too close. In between search the other objects in the room until you find the red button.
The leaf blower is in the work shed. You need the bolt cutters to get in.
Trent tape the magnet to the mop handle.
The mop handle is in the cleaning closet in the refinery. You need to find a jack to into it.

You need to get the ladder and the hose up onto the roof. attach the hose to the fire system. Use the ladder on the gap. then take the end of the hose and go across the gap.

Strange.. The timer should be set to give you ample time before the potion runs out.
Obviously you should speak to the horse before it runs out.
Are you playing the game on-line or off-line?
If it says the potion runs out right after you drink it then the timer must not be working correctly.

Memorize the spells. There should be a drop down menu to help with the spells at the top. I have no idea vicki, sorry, the scroll should just be a scroll. it should not end the game. Mestres scribe the invisible scroll. I will give you a levitate spell. Also scribe the dusty one.

Sorry about the slow response time, I have been a little busy lately.
You should be able to look at the pictures and it will give you an option to move them. The correct combo to it is turn the inner ring left twice. turn the outer ring left once. turn the middle ring right twice then press the button. If you have it wrong and press the button the puzzle will reset. So, after it resets do this combination.

The sand should be near an island. If you have found the portal in the alchemy lab then when the portal changes to different colors it will bring you to different locations. DON'T enter it when it is black or you will die. I think the color that brings you to the area with the sand is blue. ( but I am not sure ). The trick then will be to get the sand in the bucket.
