I'm really enjoying this game but I can't work out how to talk to anyone - the data assistant or the robots in the pub. Can someone help?

Hi there - thanks so much for your quick response! I've tried that but it just keeps saying 'You listen intently, but you are unable to hear anything unusual'. I keep going from location to location trying and this message always comes up. I'm really enjoying this game and am looking forward to getting further hopefully!!!
