I enjoyed this game just as much as Shiversword 2: The Magic Harp. It is the type of family-friendly, good-humoured game that I enjoy, and is set at a challenge level that that suits me. In particular, there are no dead ends, no way to die during the game, and enough comments to cover the trickier puzzles. Like Shiversword 2, it is essentially a 5-star game, but with so many rough edges it has to lose a star. It's still good fun, however!

The storyline was good but i couldn't work out many of the pieces I needed to continue. I never got an invitation, I couldn't cut anything, for cat guts and for mattress straw. I couldn't get socks. I couldn't find the mask. There really should be a link to the walkthrough. I finally just gave up because I simply couldn't figure out how to proceed.

Loved the reference to Toy Doll's Nellie the Elephant.
Still kind of lost with the scarecrow, though. (And the cat guts. And the pine wood. And the mask. And letting Harry Snotter know that I caught his invisible bunny - who am I kidding? I am completely lost. But I'll keep trying)

loved this one! so much fun and I only needed to revert to hints from the comments a couple times. the cat vomit took me forever, but I had no trouble with getting the canary back into the cage, although it seemed like others did. I think I was tired of carrying all those things around with me that it just made sense at that point, lol. again, your map/world is a great size, easily navigable, and the puzzles were challenging but not impossible. although I will admit, at first when I found out I'd need cat gut I thought I might have to kill the cat and thought you a bit cruel. ;) you keep getting better and better at these, I hope you make more games soon! x

Hi, there's a small bug with the give sock action. You can repeatedly give clean socks to McNasty and get as many points as you like, as the socks don't disappear from inventory after giving. It doesn't affect the end result though. I finished with 20 points but got a silver star since I had actually gathered 9 points, so seems to be working properly.

Hi, hope you'll still answer. I got the wood thing, scarecrow and stuff, but I can't give the girl her sweets back and I think that is how I can continue (get invited or sth).

First I thought I needed to use the jar from the onions, but now that I have used them the vinegar is inside I think. And there is some mention of flowery paper on my dresser, but I can't remove it neither.

Also, I don't know how to get the cat gut. After using the vinegar with it I might be able to use the jar for the sweets? But how do I get the gut??

Please help, thanks! Great game otherwise :)

How do you get the boots? I have put on the peanut costume and tapped the window, but it says nothing happens. I can't see through the window so Im assuming maybe it needs to be cleaned first?

I think I wasn't clear enough. You have to examine the mattress and you'll find the object I was talking about. So you didn't have to find something you'd immediately use, but you need to find something concerning the mattress. (Carrying it around would be silly...)

Oh didn't it? It did work when I used the washing machine. Don't you have wood pulp now? Have you grated the wood first? You can't soak the piece of wood...
And the other object is the mattress. Don't worry though, I can't remember any other hidden objects :)

Oh and about the hat: Search your bedroom again. You have already found the sheet I suppose, but there's another thing hidden in a description. When you find it, you need to look at it and bring it to the person that's obsessed with what's on the object. That person will give you the bonnet. (That's your hat.)

Don't tell me about the pressing of the wood yet though. I think I'd like to have a go at figuring that out myself first.

To get the wood you should blind Zoe first. Seeing you have done that, go to your bedroom and wear the peanut costume. Now Zoe's blind you can get past her. So go to Nellie, speak to her. She'll get upset and crush the fence. You'll get kicked out of the zoo and you have to change back to your normal clothing. Go back to the zoo and go back to where Nellie is. Examine the pile of wood that once was the fence and pick up the piece of wood. You'll need to soak and press it afterwards, but I don't know how to do that yet. But can you tell me where to find the bleach?
I'm also stuck on the other things you're stuck on. I need that face for the scarecrow real bad...

I think a full walkthrough of this game would be massively useful.
I've gone and done a lot of other things and progressed quite far but I'm totally stuck on Sharon Scone. I can tell you've got to do something with the advert but I don't know how get her to stop ignoring me.
Just for the record I've completely cleaned up the cat sick, got the cat gut to larry, completed the scarecrow completely apart from the head and blinded Zoe.
Oh, and I'm also mystified as to what to do with Nellie and how to get the pine wood off the fence.

Yes, I'm wearing the costume and at the window. I've tried tap on window, knock on window, throw pumpkin at window, trying everything I have on the window. It just tells me, I can't see that here.

Top game got to admit was stuck on the cat-gut for ages and had a cheating nose at the comments here. Was really challenging and as one of the other comments said its really rewarding when you work something out and it opens up loads of the game. Looking forward to trying your other games.

Seriously, what is in the bedroom that I have to give to Lucy. I've examined and looked at everything so many times and to no avail. I'm considering just punching Lucy in the head and running off with the bonnet, but Mrs Lastic would probably object to that. Can you give me a more lucid clue? It would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, I fear little Lucy's days are numbered.

That was just challenging enough. Took me ages to realise that losing the coupon was meant to happen to trigger P. Knutt offering me work to progress the game. Ran around for ages holding the coupon trying to find another way to buy the cat food. Once I surrendered the coupon things took off. Great ending too. Teased me right in to d/l Magic Harp.

Pretty good game. Had several glitches for me. McNasty's socks, as said above. John's boots staying dirty, after I tried cleaning them several times. And something kept happening where I couldn't serve drinks. Could have been my browser though, because it was pretty jerky. But I did get the tux finally, today... Overall tho, great fun, kinda difficult at times (took me forever to figure out how to get all the lute parts!)

I found one little glitch. If you return socks to mcnasty they are nor removed from your inventory. You can keep returning the socks end get as many cleaning points as you want.

Well I second that. I'm definitely a fan of the"___ Quest" games where you find seemingly random objects and use them for not-that-random of a purpose. There are some technical glitches, so I don't think this one is as good as your other games, but it's still alot of fun.

AAArrrh! Nearly there! Been to party and received tuxedo but still cannot get bonnet off lucy so scarecrow still incomplete. Spoke to mirror but cannot use it or move it. Can't think of anything else shiny in bedroom. Ive still only got 8 pieces, 9 cleaning points but managed to give 5 drinks :-).

I've managed to get quite far in this but the scarecrow is doing my head in. I've got stick in ground, made scarecrow body, got a pumpkin (use trowel on it) put face mask on it. However, when I try to put it together it says I need a face and a hat! Help :-(

You have to wait for the shop to re-open. When you finally pick up the lute, don't go with John straight away, go talk to Mama. That should open up the shop

ok, finally sorted out the straw and finished the scarecrow. am trying to hand zoe a mask but pesky kids keep taking them off her! also the nuts are just encouraging nellie to dance and i can't get to mcnasty to give him his clean socks back

the ten cleaning points should be...
1)making the bed (you will lose this point when you wear the sheet but regain it after the party when you make the bed again)
2)putting the wrapper in the bin
3) cleaning up the vomit with the face mask
4)putting the carrot tops on the compost
5)giving the jar of sweets to lucy
6) cleaning the socks and giving them to McNasty
7) cleaning the boots
8) putting the bleach in the cupboard
9) getting the canary back in the cage
10)bleaching the stain

I think there are a few glitches here. Sorry, my bad.
You gain the point for the socks when you give them to McNasty. (a glitch means you can keep given them until you get the ten points)
To cheer up Mama, you need to give her a box of chocolates- you can buy it from the shop (but only if you've got the money)
I can't help with the saving problem.

I seem to have reached a limit in what I can achieve in this game. Frustratingly, I find that any saves from this game can't be opened. Every time I try to open them I get a run time error, forcing me to always start the game from the beginning. Is that just my software? It restores from other games all right.

I can get 9 of the cleaning points, but when I wash and dry the socks, it says I get a cleaning point but the number of points doesn't go up. Also I can't cheer up Mama Shiversword after the party, am I right in thinking Harry's cryptic comment is somehow relevant to that?

Another good game by this author and it uses the character from the Sir Loin game. It doesn't feel as in depth as the other games, but it still was good fun. I liked the different costumes you can wear. I did find the bit at the party difficult because of the time limit.
