Very enjoyable game. I am a little stuck though and wondered if anyone could give me a pointer. I am not sure what to do with the witch? I am only 29 out of 100, so i know i am missing a lot of the game. Is there a walkthough anywhere?
The game is one of the most fun games on here. lighthearted and challenging (at least to me!) Cheers

I agree with Crispin's review. I had fun playing this game but I'm having trouble telling if I've really finished it or not. I have 100 out of 100 points and I can't seem to find any islands that I haven't yet explored, but I have all these extra items that I haven't found a use for (same as Crispin) and there was no message or anything telling me I'd finished the game. Otherwise I think it's a good game, and I was impressed by all the different places you can visit on the islands.

Everything that can be said about Pirate Adventure Quest seems to have been said: this is a fun game with lots of interaction and an open world (or, sea), but there are bugs that keep you from doing some things (such as poisoning the rum.) All in all I had fun and enjoyed trying to accumulate as many points as possible, even if this game seems to lack an actual ending.

When you are sailing the map actually is not that large. It only appears big. If you sail too far in any one direction it is like walking into a wall. it looks like you are still walking, but you are not actually going anywhere. Think old school platformers.

Overall excellent, but an update to add an onscreen map would be useful.

*sigh* not sure how it all turns out; it locked up when I tried to ask the monkey something. Also, am I the only person to know that "dingy" means "grungy" and a "dinghy" is a small boat? I'm assuming it's a dingy dinghy. :-)

There were a couple issues in this game.
-I ended up with two "rums"- one from the skeleton, and one from the wench. When I gave it to the drunk, "Error running script: Error adding key 'rum' to dictionary: An item with the same key has already been added." showed up.
-After using the rope on the tree, I tried to take it again and got "You can't take it. Taken."
-After you have gotten rid of the chief, if you leave and come back, the description says that the chieftain is there, even though he isn't.
-There is no ending. I hit the end of chapter 2, but I could keep going until I had 100/100, and then nothing happened. What am I missing?
-What to do with the pineapple, the silver key, the driftwood, the ball, and the coconut?
-It was incredibly difficult to navigate at sea. I was pretty much going random directions until I found an island.

But overall, the game was very entertaining and piratical, and I quite enjoyed it! I really appreciated the monkey. Overall a fun game!

I love this game. It's one of the best I've played. The only thing is--what do you do at the island with the cellar? It doesn't appear as an object and I can't figure out what to do next, and currently have 95 points.

I think I finished the quest, but my score was only 95 instead of what I can only assume must be an even 100. So I must have missed something...oh well, such is life.

Use net on post. That's what you do with it. To the other guy asking questions use rum on barricade, then light it up with a match...teeheehee. Have fun. Too bad there was not any marshmallows to roast after torching the barricade. Had anyone been a real pirate and killed the little boy yet? That's one sure fire way to get your doubloon back. Then you toss him in to the surf destroying all evidence...you gotta love that. Murder without consequence!!!

I did better today and found 2 other islands. One with a buried surprise. i found a net? Anyoneone know where to use it. Now I just keep getting lost at see and when I find land it's the main island I was on. Where do you get and egg for the pain in the rear parrot? I'm trying to find that place agian to see if there is anything else there is to do there now that I have more stuff. I keep getting confused though because if I go one way I end up at the Island with a spring. So I decide to go the oposite direction with some veariations and I still en up on that island. Is there some sort of trick to finding the Ilands. Like E E N E S as an example?

I was loving it. But I hadn't taken the matches. I didn't even go into that room. I had died the night before and rushed through it today to get to where I had left off. I'm stuck at the barracade cause I have no stinkin" matchs!!! But I did get the rum. Sigh. Try again tomorrow.

I played this one during a couple sessions to get it. It was worth coming back to. I didnt find all 100 points though.
To get in the gate you just type yo ho ho and a bottle of rum

6 stars! this game was awesome. nice little puzzles that arent impossible. got to 87 out of 100 is that about done? couldnt figure out what to do in the village after seeing something shiny with the spyglass. but besides that it was excellent!!! favorite game yet!

ok just got back turns out you say "use poison on rum"(when you have killed the witch and taken the poison) to poison rum then just give it to the chieftan and he is dead.

This is a very fun game! I am stuck on the poison as well--I can't figure out any combination of commands that will let me poison the rum and/or the chieftan. Help!

that was really helpful thanks! i'm new to text based games and i'm now stuck at 85/100! i have to rum and the pineapple, but how do you combine them? i've tried put pineapple in rum and use pineapple with/on rum and vise versa! i love this game!

That was fun!! Thank you for adding all the plundering of dead bodies!! That was my favorite part but I feel the witch could have fought better! Lots of fun yo ho ho!!

This game is a lot of fun. I liked figuring out what to do next. The story-telling aspect is great, it was a true pirate adventure. Thank you for including a pet monkey! He was very helpful. Also plundering is my favorite!
