Hi Logan I'm so pleased you are enjoying the game, I'm sorry you are finding commands sparse I've tried to put myself in the mind of other players and use as many commands as possible. I presume you mean lifting the tile, have you tried (GET TILE) or some of the commands I used was get, grab, lift, pry, take, loose, loosen. But never thought that someone would try to clean the dirt in between the tile. Have you got the STEEL RULE yet it is necessary to get the tile. If you have anymore questions do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks for kind comments. Happy Adventuring Terry.

This is an amazing game so far- but can be so hard to find the right command. I spent ages trying to find my way out the hall before the woman has a flashback of her mother's funeral. And now, I'm stuck again. On the helical staircase, after you sit on the grumpy chair and it moves out of the way, for you to find the loose tile. To clean the dirt, I've tried every command I can think of to use the cloth. Is the cloth even the answer to the riddle? If so, what should I type?
Oh, and thank you for helping me many, many comments back, in the first room. I've just been so absorbed with intrigue for this... odd game.

Hi Jack hope you are enjoying the game and I presume that you mean the opening in the wardrobe in the bedroom. If you are getting this message then you have to find the clothes and pumps and wear them. But if you type in hint in the room it will let you know what to do. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Happy Adventuring Terry.

Hi BanKulin glad you are enjoying the game. I don't mind at all constructive criticism or that the verbs should be more flexible, I will always listen to people and be open minded it's the only way to learn. This was my first game of this type and any pointers will always be welcome. Have you been in the silo yet, because you need to go into one of the mirrors to retrieve the Labrador dog that shows you where the gold doubloon is, without that you cannot end this part of the game. There is a reason why she keeps thinking back, the second part reveals why. Also can you explain about the slideshow / panoramic graphic adventure it sounds intriguing. Also there is a bug with the pictures that shows the previous one if saved, and Alex sorted that out in 5.3. Once again thanks for taking time to look at the game. Terry

Hello again... It seems that I'm near the end, but I'm stuck again. I can't figure out where to find gold dubloon...

It's an interesting game so far... I like mysterious atmosphere and some subconscious concepts.. I agree with sarah about verb flexibility, it's definitely too strict... I also didn't like picture integration, too much inconsistency in style, but I generally like text flow in story progression. As for a writing, descriptions of surroundings are strong points. I didn't like some attempts of emotional involvement of the main character, it seems too shallow, and I prefer the style of fragmented mystery that is, fortunately, more dominant in the game and more symbolic to the main character. I generally like puzzle design, but for some strange reason I think that whole game, including puzzles, be better functioning as slideshow / panoramic graphic adventure...

This is just a first impressions, I generally don't give any review without at least 2 playthrough...

BanKulin you are welcome, there's always clues in the description some are subtle and some are are blatant but always there hope you are enjoying the game. Terry

Thank you Terry... I suspect that was navigational problem, I look at that in-game map only briefly, maybe there was more visible side way at hut location... Although, front is kinda stressed at description when you go from crossroads to a hut. I should pay a more attention.

Hi BanKulin thanks for looking at the game you need to go round the side of the hut and turn the wheel. That will shut off the water that feeds the hut. (Outside the hut) (go side or follow path will do) Have fun Terry

Hi Terry, sorry for forgetting to review sooner and many thanks again for all your help! This was a truly original game with a mysterious premise and an intriguing storyline which unfolds gradually as the player explores their surroundings. The gameplay is different to any other game I have seen on this site and the game is open-ended enough to allow for exploration of the many fascinating landscapes featured in the game without thinking that every single location must hold a vital clue for solving the game. I also appreciated that you didn't lead the player by the hand, but let them discover their life story gradually through little flashes of memory which are brought to mind as more puzzles are solved and more items and locations are examined. The ending is also excellent, allowing the player to decide for themselves what all that they may have learned about themself might mean without spelling it out.

However, while the game is excellent, I do have a few minor criticisms to make which I hope you will not be offended by! Firstly, a little extra proof-reading would go a long way to improving the flow of the game, although there are spelling mistakes, there are also missing spaces between words and missing punctuation which can sometimes spoil the flow of the excellent descriptions. Secondly, one of the things I enjoyed about the game can also be one of its weak points and this is the open ended nature of some of the gameplay. There are many excellent puzzles (the cinema ticket in particular) which take a great deal of solving but which have, ultimately, no bearing on the outcome of the game. I realise these puzzles are there to help us uncover something about our past, but I can't help but think it would be nice if they also gave a little clue as to solving the rest of the game or a helpful item or something! Many excellent games throw some red herrings and dead-end puzzles into the mix, and this is absolutely fine, however, there were so many of them in this game that it was hard to work out what was worth sp

Hi Gems thanks for looking at the game you have been through the opening did you go to the tree and go up the stairs to the top and did you look at the mushrooms in the hollow. You should have been sprayed by the fungus from the mushrooms then when you touch the mirror you will be transported through to the other side. Happy adventuring Terry.

I've only just starting playing this game and did alright at first. Found the clothes and shoes, went through the opening and am now stuck. Decided to cheat and use the walkthrough, but it keeps telling me to do what I've already done followed by "when you return to room, touch the mirror" which is what I've done, but nothing has changed. Help!

Hi Sarah the coins do absolutely nothing, a type of red herring although overall the messages do mean a great deal. I just thought it would be a little fun to mess about with objects just for the sake of it. However these objects can point to different notions and ideas for the answers she seeks. Have you tried ( pay the ferryman ) or pay the man or something like that. And after that don't shout at me. lol Terry.

Hi again Terry, thanks very much for that, it's greatly appreciated and I have consequently reached what I suspect may be the last stage of the game (if the cloaked figure is indeed a Charon-like character which all the clues lead to!) I found the gold dubloon some time ago, but I cannot figure out how to give it to the cloaked figure in exchange for passage across the river. I have tried every verb and command I can think of but to no avail, if you could please help me again I would be extremely grateful!

If it helps to figure out if I have left anything undone, in answer to the questions in your last post, I have met the man in the office and been sent to the white room and subsequently escaped much earlier in the game. I threw the coins in the fountain then retrieved them (though when playing previously I had put them into the fortune telling machine, neither seem to have had much of an effect on game play!)

I was holding off reviewing and rating until I'd finished the game if that's ok as then I can give it a more complete and accurate review!

Hi, yeah sure the blue doors had a terrible bug. For some reason I missed out half the coding, but fixed now so I've uploaded an update. Hope this is not inconvenient for you.The text is, after you have turned the handle type in place keystone in slot, or something similar. There are several ways of saying it and then open the doors. Have you met her dog yet. That is the most critical component in the game. If not have a look in the silo. just type open door for access. Have you been in the white room yet? Did you find the coins? If so did you use them in the fountain or in the fortune telling machine. Have you met the man in the office? If you would could you please rate this game for me. P. S. It's no bother at all. Terry

Hi again Terry, sorry to bother you yet again, but I feel I am getting closer to the end! Thanks to your advice I have created a keystone and accessed the cave and retrieved the dynamite, however, I just can't work out what command to use to get the keystone to jam the cog in the underground cavern to prevent the bolt from sliding back into place. Any help you could give would be very greatly appreciated, sorry to keep asking for help!

Terry, thanks, but I can't figure out what command to use to coax the horse out of the stable, is there an item I am missing? I thought wearing the glove might help protect me but it doesn't seem to have an effect, I have got no further since I last posted so would love some hints on the areas I mentioned too please!

Hi Sarah how are you doing with the game I have changed a small bug in the pool by the boulder. [lever the boulder] is one of the commands to topple it over the side. But you have to get the bar to do it, which you will find in the stall once the horse has vacated it. No spoilers as you will see if you get in the stall. Please let me know, thanks Terry.

Hi Terry, thank you very much for the help, I had tried kicking the bottom pane but not 'kicking it in', so I have now got into the shop, found shears, a glove and some nails and broken the glass counter and taken the hammer. I must admit that I am now totally stumped again so would really appreciate a couple more hints please!

I still have no idea how to break up the wooden planks (I presume I need to do this in order to make something to fit in the slot in the underground chamber to prevent the bolt from sliding back), I have tried many different verbs with no luck.

I have used the shears to cut away the hedges and so have accessed the lagoon, which has now drained enough for me to see the cave after I blocked the channels above, but I have no idea how to get to the cave as it is stilltoo deep, I presume I need to shift the large boulder which is sat in the pool above but have no idea how to do this, whether I don't have the right tool or am using the wrong verb, I have tried 'pry' and 'lever' but been told I have nothing to do that with and 'push' clearly does not work.

I also have no clue what to do in the blacksmith shop, I'm told I have no reason to light the forge yet and I can't get near the horse. I am also carrying around a bucket of water which I have found no use for.

This really is a wonderful game so I'd love to get a bit further. I think one of the things which I'm finding challenging about this game is that it differs greatly in form from most other Quest games I've played, eschewing as it does the usual 'use 'x' on 'x'' commands for more naturalistic language, this is a really refreshing innovation and I greatly approve of it as it gives a much more immersive feel to the game, I'm just proving a bit incompetent at working out the correct verb sometimes, even though the appropriate verbs make complete sense!

I've solved the chest puzzle in the hut and so have managed to watch the film in the cinema. Unfortunately, I am now completely stuck again so would really really appreciate any help at all with the following puzzles, I think I may have an idea how to solve some of them but can't figure out the correct commands to use.

First, I presume I'm meant to break up one of the wooden planks in the tunnel in order to use it in the slot in the underground cavern to prevent the bolt from sliding back after pulling the rope but just can't figure out how to break the planks into a suitable size.

Also, I presume I'm supposed to scare off the crows somehow but have no idea how, I have tried throwing the rock at them.

I have tried every command I can think of to break the windows and the hardware shop but to no avail.

I have no idea how to tame the horse in the stable or what I am supposed to do with the forge.

Any help you could give me would be very gratefully received as this game is great and I'd like to solve it!

I'm really enjoying this game, the setting is very intriguing and the puzzles complex and challenging. I've been able to work out most of the puzzles so far, but I'm currently very stuck on how to get the key on the chain in the hut to the chest in the basement of the hut. I've drained the water and I presume that I need to lower the key on the chain into the room where the chest is, unfortunately I just can't work out what command I need to use to achieve this. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated!
